It’s less than a week to go before the 2018 Geneva Motor Show kicks off and its doors open to the public.
The International Geneva Motor Show is an important major annual auto show event which is held every March in the Swiss city of Geneva. This year’s show will be its 88th and the doors will open to the public on Thursday, 8 March.
The show lasts for 10 days, giving motor enthusiasts from all over the world enough time to book themselves a couple of days off and take a trip to the auto filled event.
As usual, there’ll be plenty of new production and concept cars on display from many of the major car manufacturers, not to mention a few surprises too!
According to those in the industry, this year’s event will be highly focused on electric vehicles and autonomous technology, however the Geneva show is well known for introducing a number of performance cars to the masses.
There’s a plethora of new production cars expected to generate the biggest headlines at the 88th Geneva Motor Show which is hosted every year at the Palexpo, a convention centre located right next door to the Geneva Cointrin International Airport.
Here’s just a handful of cars that are expected to draw in the crowds and attract the most attention at the 2018 Geneva Motor Show; the Audi A6, Cupra Ateca, Mercedes A-Class, Toyota’s Gazoo Racing Supra and the new Volvo V60 estate.
The auto event attracts thousands of visitors each year, with over half a million attending the show in 2016.
This year’s show will hold preview events beginning on Saturday, 3 March – this is when manufacturers treat press members to a sneak peek of the shows topliner’s. A couple of press days kick off on 6 March, then on Thursday, 8 March the doors open to the public and stay open until Sunday, 18 March.
