It’s almost upon us again – the Goodwood Festival of Speed 2018 starts next week and promises to be as thrilling and fun this year as it has been for the past twenty years and more.

The Duke of Richmond has been hosting the event within his own grounds since the 90s, opening up his driveway to a huge collection of cars old and new, as well as a fine selection of bikes.

This year’s event will start on Thursday 12 July and run until Sunday 15 July, so there’s a chance for everyone to come along and enjoy what’s on offer over the four days.

The opening day mainly features new cars but this year for the first time is also going to include some timed runs.

The annual event usually attracts around 150,000 fans each day, with Saturday and Sunday usually the busiest days for visitors.

There’s plenty going on to keep visitors occupied and of course includes the famous hillclimb which is the main attraction at the Festival of Speed.

Other attractions taking place over the four day motoring extravaganza include the Forest Rally Stage, Supercar Run, Cartier Style et Luxe and the Moving Motor Show which was introduced to the annual event in 2010.

Extreme stunts including Freestyle Motorcross, BMX and trial bike riding are also showcased in the GAS (Goodwood Action Sports) Arena for biking enthusiasts.

The crowds also get to enjoy a number of air displays from the likes of the Red Arrows and the RAF Tornado.

The classics might be what attracts the most visitors, however there’s also brand new cars on show and exhibitions to enjoy on the hillclimb route.

The annual Bonhams auction will also be hosted at Goodwood on Friday evening and this year, the Aston Martin DB5 that appeared in the Bond movie Goldeneye will be auctioned off and is expected to sell for £1.2 to £1.6 million.
