Volvo has released the latest addition to the V60 family, the plug-in hybrid R-design.
With exceptionally low emissions and high efficiency, the new V60 qualifies as one of the most cost-effective cars to run on the market.
The R-design aesthetics which have been added to the V60 give the car a much sportier feel, with an R-design front bumper and grille, rear diffuser and 18-inch Ixion wheels.
Inside the cabin, the car offers the full R-design trim, with sports seats as standard, sports pedals, sports floor mats and charcoal headlining.
Alain Visser, Senior Vice President Marketing, Sales and Customer Service at Volvo Car Group, said: “We sold almost 8,000 plug-in hybrids in 2013.
“Adding the R-Design dynamic attributes to the V60 Plug-in Hybrid – the world’s first diesel plug-in hybrid – will further broaden its appeal.
“The customer gets segment-topping performance combined with outstanding efficiency,”
Drivers of the new plug-in hybrid R-design can select between three driving modes, Pure, Hybrid and Power, with the Hybrid option offering low emissions of just 48g/km.
In Pure mode, the Volvo can travel up to 31 miles on electric power alone, and when switched into Power mode the car offers 215+70 bhp and 440+200 Nm of torque.
