Jaguar Land Rover vehicles all the rage for British motorists
A record sales month has been recorded by UK manufacturer Jaguar Land Rover
The British auto manufacturer has recorded its most successful UK monthly sales performance since the company was founded, with figures showing it sold a vehicle every two minutes in March.
This success story correlates with a record first quarter for the UK automotive industry; with more than 770,000 new vehicles registered between January and March across Britain. Jaguar Land Rover, based in West Midlands, accounted for 35,444 of these registrations; up on last year by 35 per cent.
As UK’s leading producer of luxury vehicles, JLR has good cause to celebrate its record month, as sales rose by 16 per cent compared to 2015. The auto marque sold 25,127 vehicles in March 2016; Jaguar cars accounted for 5,655 of this figure, while Land Rover sales reached 19,472.
The new Jaguar 4×4 has proved to be a huge success for the company, which said the F-Pace has become its fastest ever selling vehicle, with more than 25,000 pre-orders. Jaguar expects the F-Pace to go one further, to become its best selling car of all time.
Jaguar Land Rover is hoping that the trend for its luxury vehicles will continue, as its new Range Rover Evoque Convertible is set to go on sale later this year, alongside other new and updated models.
Overall, the UK automotive industry experienced the best month since 1999; the year that bi-annual number plates were introduced. According to the figures released by SMMT, March automotive sales were up by 5.1 per cent in comparison to the same month in 2015.
