First official images of the Volvo XC90 released
The first images of Volvo’s game-changing XC90 have been released.
The new XC90 is the first Volvo which will utilise the recently developed Scalable Product Architecture (SPA) platform, the platform which is set to underpin forthcoming Volvos.
At the top of the range, drivers can expect to find a petrol hybrid which combines a two-litre four-cylinder turbocharged and supercharged engine with an electric motor. According to Volvo, XC90s with this engine will boast 400bhp with emissions of just 60g/km.
In addition to this, the Volvo XC90 boasts a represents a shift in the exterior design on the model with a new grille badge, new front-end styling, and T-shaped running lights.
Inside the XC90, things have changed too. Volvo have publicly stated that the XC90 is the first car which will signal a shift towards increased luxury within future Volvo cabins. Control within the cabin will reside with an 8-inch touch screen, and the model will also have a crystal gear lever.
Lovers of music won’t be disappointed either, with the XC90 boasting a 19-speaker Bowers and Wilkins stereo, ensuring great sound quality.
The new XC90 will be available to order from October, with the first deliveries expected to commence in May of 2015.
