If you (and any named drivers) hold a full UK driving licence and are currently not disqualified from driving, we are happy to underwrite your contract.
However, if you have a non-GB driving license, but are a resident of Great Britain, there are a few conditions to meet. If you meet the following conditions, we’ll happily accept your license.
What are the conditions for non-GB licence holders?
- If you hold a Northern Ireland driving licence, we can accept it providing that it is full and valid.
- If your licence originates from the European Union or European Economic Area, we can accept it.
- If your licence is from Gibraltar, Jersey, Guernsey, the Isle of Man or a *designated country, we can accept your licence as long as you have been a resident of Great Britain for less than 12 months. If you have been in the UK for longer than 12 months, you’ll need to exchange your licence for a UK one.
- If your licence is from any other country not included in the above categories, and you have been a resident of Great Britain for less than 12 months, we can accept your licence.
- If you have been in the UK for longer than 12 months, you’ll need to apply for a provisional licence and pass a practical driving test to obtain a UK-licence.
