Motoring enthusiasts only have to wait a few more weeks for the show to begin – 2 October
The biggest carmakers in Europe are eagerly awaiting the opportunity to show off their new metal at the 2018 Paris Motor Show.
The biennial auto show is held in October and is regarded as one of the largest and most important auto shows on the calendar after the Geneva Motor Show. It is the first and one of the world’s oldest motor shows, started in 1898 by founder Albert de Dion.
The show was originally held annually until 1976 when it became a biennial auto show and now alternates with the International Motor Show Germany in Frankfurt every year.
Every two years, the show often has many new production automobiles and concept cars to debut to the press and public. In 2016, a staggering 1,253,513 visitors attended the Paris Motor Show which made it the most visited auto show in the world.
This year’s show begins on 2 October for the first press day and opens to the public on 4 October.
And whilst the show doesn’t begin until early October, there’s already rumours circulating as to what some of this year’s biggest stars are going to be.
However, this year’s show will not be attended by Ford, Nissan, Volkswagen or Volvo.
At the last show, electrification was the major theme and it’s anticipated this will be repeated for the 2018 Paris Motor Show.
Here are just a few of the key cars expected to be on display at the Paris Motor Show 2018; BMW 3 Series, DS 3 Crossback, Mercedes GLE, Mercedes B-Class and a Porsche Macan facelift.
