BMW to unveil 6 new models by 2017

BMW are set to use the new UKL1 MINI platform to deliver 6 new front-wheel-drive models by 2017.
The first BMW to use the UKL 1 platform, which will also underpin new MINI models, was the 2 Series Active Tourer, released earlier this year.
Drivers can expect to see a 7-seater version arrive next year, followed by a new BMW X1 with a BMW X2 also in the pipeline.
Following this, BMW are also set to release a new BMW Z2 and a new BMW 1 series in 2017, both of which will use the UKL1 platform.

In switching to the UKL1 platform, BMW will see all of these new models use front-wheel drive as opposed to the rear-wheel drive to which BMW drivers have become accustomed.
In addition to the 6 new BMW models due for release using the UKL1 platform, MINI themselves are expected to release 8 new models.
The recently released MINI Countryman could receive a re-work as soon as 2017, while the new 3-door MINI also utilises the UKL1 MINI platform. MINI are also set to release additional models, including a Mini firve-door, Clubman, Convertible and Paceman, JCW and Superleggera in addition to, all of which will use the UKL1 platform.
