The cost of keeping a car on the road is very expensive and for young drivers, even more so with the huge costs for insurance. A smart way of keeping your running costs down is by finding the cheapest car to insure.

New young drivers soon discover that the cost of their insurance comes down to many factors, not just about what the value of their car is, and in many instances, the price for one year’s cover can far exceed the car’s value.
To find out which cars are the cheapest to insure, you need to check their group rating. Insurance groups go from 1 right up to 50 but it’s a case of the lower the better.
The general consensus is that new cars with the lowest insurance group numbers are usually cheaper than cars without. Another thing to remember, is that whilst comparison websites do help you to find the best quotes, not all insurance companies advertise on them, so phoning up for a quote might be a good idea.
