According to new research, VW Golf drivers from London in their 30s, in France, are most at risk
According to new figures gathered by Admiral, car insurance claims from Brits holidaying abroad have risen over the last five years by 160%.
And the car insurance company claim that if you’re a VW Golf driver from London, in your 30s and holidaying in France you need to be extra careful – you’re the most at risk apparently of being involved in an accident abroad!

Admiral’s research found that France came top of the claims league table with 46%, with more visitors from the UK visiting France and making claims than in any other country in Europe during the past 10 years.
Spain came second on the table with 9%, followed by Germany on 7%.
The survey found that Londoners were the drivers most likely to make a claim following an accident abroad (23%), with motorists from the South East close behind on 18%.
As far as which type of car is most likely to be involved in an accident abroad, BMW tops the list with one in 10 (11%), closely followed by Volkswagen drivers on 9% and Audi the same.
The top five was made up of Ford on 8% and Mercedes-Benz on 7%.
When it comes to age however, over the last 10 years, drivers aged 30 to 39 traveling abroad have made the most insurance claims making up around one third (30%).
Motorists aged 40 to 49 made up almost a quarter (24%), with young drivers aged 20 to 29 accounting for one in five (19%) of accidents and claims.
It comes as no surprise to find August is the month when the most accidents happen abroad – a quarter of all claims in 2016 were a result of Brits having an accident whilst on holiday abroad.
Head of claims at Admiral, Laura Connelly said: “To ensure an accident doesn’t ruin your holiday we’re calling on all drivers to make sure they’re well informed, so if the worst should happen, they are properly prepared.”
She recommends Brits ensure they have the right documentation with them, know the rules of the road where you are visiting and find out what you should do and who you should report an incident to if an accident occurs whilst abroad.
