New Top Gear lineup named the ‘Magnificent Seven’
BBC press release announces the final Top Gear lineup
Journalist and broadcaster, Chris Evans, is to be joined by a unique host of co-presenters for this year’s return of the iconic BBC automotive show.
Top Gear will be returning to our screens later this year with a host of new and exciting cast of characters. After the BBC announced that American sitcom actor, Matt Le Blanc, will be joining the Top Gear line-up, four more car-crazy co-presenters were officially announced last week, along with the return of the ever-mysterious The Stig.
Car enthusiast Chris Evans and Friends’ actor Matt Le Blanc, will be joined by:
- Sabine Schmitz – the German racing driver will add a feminine touch to the proceedings.
- Chris Harris – automotive YouTuber, journalist and presenter.
- Eddie Jordan – the eccentric Irish former Formula One driver, team owner and presenter.
- Rory Reid – a journalist chosen because of his impressive public audition.
Evans has described the new Top Gear team as the “magnificent seven from motoring heaven” and he is hoping that, along with himself, the interesting set of new presenters, who obviously have a lot of expertise to offer the casual and devoted Top Gear viewer, will be able to “cover the entire automotive spectrum”.
The BBC has not yet released the date when the first revamped Top Gear episode will be broadcast, but the British audience, the sceptical and the positive, are eager to find out whether the seven presenters will indeed prove to be ‘magnificent’.
